Day's Range. Beta 5Y Monthly. Earnings Date. May 05, Ex-Dividend Date.Fife, Washington US Foods is the worst of the worst. They always claim they are behind getting trucks unloaded. Must be understaffed. Personally, I think their entire staff are complete idiots. We had a 2nd stop on our load, US Foods portion was on the back where else would it beyet they took the entire load off.
Four hours later, we are finally able to leave. What a crap hole. I am extremely frustrated with US Foods, and I feel it necessary to share my experience for others considering doing business with US Foods. The first issue is that they are rarely, if ever, on time with deliveries. The times that they eventually arrive are usually during a meal time rush.
You might think that a company delivering food to restaurants would know better than to deliver during the meal time rushes, however they seem to be completely apathetic to this. The more frustrating issue is that very frequently, the truck does not have everything that we ordered, and that our restaurant needs to function.
As a result, we frequently have to drive to the US Foods distribution center, which is about 2 hours round trip, to get the things that were not delivered to us. The time and gas money adds up, and is never reimbursed in any way.
If this only happened very occasionally, it would be forgivable - but when I have to drive to US Foods almost every week, it becomes exhausting. I'm sure that there is nothing that can be done about any of this, and we are just extremely unlucky. I would urge anyone considering doing business with US Foods to think about all of this before you sign a contract.
If you're looking for a very reliable food distributor, you might want to look elsewhere.

BySexton began manufacturing private label pickles, salad dressings, preserves, and jellies as well as roasting coffee in downtown Chicago.
In addition, Sexton established a food testing laboratory to guarantee that his products had a uniform high level of quality. He also developed an extensive national institutional sales force in all major metropolitan areas, and a catalog mail order grocery business.
Chicago deliveries were by Sexton horse and wagon fleet, and, afterSexton electric and diesel truck fleets. BySexton dropped the catalog mail order business and concentrated on the institutional customers throughout the United States.

In the early s, distributors, including Mazo-Lerch Company, began offering frozen foods, primarily frozen french fries and orange juice. Foodservice distributors served institutional clients that provided food away from home, unlike retail distributors, who sold to grocery stores. The first distinction between the two groups came about inwith the formation of the Association of Institutional Distributors.
With fighting going on in Korea, the federal government reinstituted price controls, including a 16 percent ceiling on food distributors' gross profits. About a dozen companies met in Chicago to respond to that action. Because it cost more to distribute to their institutional customers than to grocery stores, the distributors wanted to be considered separately from grocery wholesalers and to have their ceiling raised to at least 21 percent.
They were successful in their lobbying efforts. The federal government also helped open up foodservice markets. Five years earlier, inthe U.
